We monitor our wells for inorganic chemicals and secondary drinking water samples periodically. Well #5 was due for testing in 2023. We missed the deadline (I goofed!) and tested it in January 2024.
This is a violation, and the Violation Notice is linked here. This violation doesn’t signify a problem with our water; Well #5 passed its testing in January and well water changes slowly (if at all).
But this is a good reminder that water safety is a serious business with thorough oversight. Some of you have wondered why we have been asking for all the detailed information in our recent Service Line and Backflow Survey. This is another area that we (and the Department of Drinking Water) take very seriously.
